Ten years after the tender in 2016, this inner-city development in the centre of Eindhoven has been realised. The project adds a vibrant new urban district to the city centre.
Developed by SDK Vastgoed, in collaboration with Stam + De Koning Bouw and MVRDV, Nieuw Bergen brings together living, greenery and urban energy.
237 homes and space for the city
Nieuw Bergen consists of seven buildings with a total of 237 homes, ranging from social housing to high-end apartments. In addition, approximately 3,200 m² of green space and 1,700 m² of commercial space have been realised. The area offers space to live, work and connect.
A sustainable and future-proof district
Sustainability has been a key focus from the very beginning. The plan aligns with the development of Eindhoven as a city of design and technology, with attention to climate adaptation, material use and quality of life.
Iconic architecture with abundant daylight
The design by MVRDV is characterised by sloping roofs and a gradual rise towards the Indigo tower. This creates optimal daylight, a distinctive silhouette and a comfortable human scale at street level.
Homes and commercial spaces still available
With the completion of Nieuw Bergen, a limited number of apartments are still available, including an exclusive penthouse. Several commercial units are also available, contributing to a lively and attractive urban district.
